Time for another gallery post.
Eric Miller has been up helping rivet together bomb-bay pieces for Lucky Thirteen and Liberty Belle.
For Lucky Thirteen, this includes finishing the bomb-bay’s upper right longeron, which is another original piece out of 44-83316. Because of corrosion, a portion of the longeron had to be replaced and spliced in.
The unique, green coloring you see is the result of us replicating wartime Zinc Chromate practice. Rather than simply painting a similar color, the appropriate parts are actually dipped in the chemical, resulting in a unique finish that exactly mimics untouched pieces from the war.

Station 4 for Lucky Thirteen, now fully riveted. We are still looking for an affordable supplier of stencils to recreate the war-time, red manufacturer’s markings.
